Kristen Elmore-Garcia
Attorney

Kristen Elmore-Garcia is a dedicated litigator, legal strategist, and Partner at the Law Office of John V. Elmore, P.C. Since joining the firm in 2021, Kristen has led the transformation from a solo practice into a dynamic team-based operation, managing a growing roster of attorneys and paralegals while advocating relentlessly for clients harmed by negligence, injustice, and systemic failure.
Kristen brings rare perspective to her personal injury practice—having served both as an Assistant District Attorney in Erie County and as a defense-side litigator in the insurance industry. Her insight into prosecutorial decision-making and insurance company tactics gives her clients a decisive edge, whether at trial, mediation, or the negotiating table.
An accomplished communicator and educator, Kristen’s legal background is rooted in journalism and cross-cultural advocacy. She earned her B.A. in Communications and Political Science from SUNY Brockport and her J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law, where she also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Media Law and Cross-Cultural Journalism.
Kristen’s leadership extends far beyond the courtroom. She serves on the Board of Directors for the 8th Judicial District of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and was recently named 4th Department Vice President for the statewide organization. She also chaired committees for the Minority Bar Association of Western New York and the Empire State Legal Diversity Career Fair.
A frequent leading voice in the media, Kristen has provided legal analysis and commentary for local, national and international media outlets. Her work representing victims has positioned her as a powerful advocate at the intersection of civil rights, trauma, and accountability.
She lives in Buffalo with her husband, Rafael Garcia, and their daughter. When not litigating or leading, Kristen enjoys making memories with her family.
