Carin Gordon

Attorney

Carin was born in Grenada and currently resides in Buffalo, where she proudly serves her community as a passionate advocate for justice, equity, and family. Her journey to the legal field began in the classroom, where she taught English Literature before moving to the United States to pursue new opportunities. A summa cum laude graduate of Medgar Evers College with a degree in Public Administration, Carin co-founded the college’s first Pre-Law Society and was an active student leader, earning prestigious honors such as the New York Urban Fellows Scholarship and the Edward T. Rogowsky Scholarship.

Her path led her to the University at Buffalo School of Law, where she earned her J.D. and continued her commitment to service as Secretary of the Domestic Violence Club. Carin’s professional legal career spans public service, government, and finance—from her time as Legislative Director to New York State Senator Kevin Parker, to her work in regulatory compliance at M&T Bank, and her role as Assistant Corporation Counsel IV for the City of Buffalo. In this role, she advised the Buffalo Common Council and various city boards on matters of legislation, land use, and legal policy, representing the City and its leaders in complex legal proceedings.

Carin is deeply committed to community and advocacy, especially around issues of diversity and inclusion. She served two terms as Chair of the Diversity Committee for the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York and is currently a Director of the Erie County Bar Foundation. A proud member of the Minority Bar Association, Carin brings her values of justice, compassion, and dedication to every case and client she serves.

Outside of the courtroom, Carin is a devoted wife to Assistant District Attorney Milton Gordon and the proud mother of two children. Her daughter’s battle with multiple food allergies sparked a personal journey of advocacy, problem-solving, and culinary exploration—transforming her into a skilled baker of gluten- and dairy-free (vegan) treats. Whether it’s in the courtroom or the kitchen, Carin approaches every challenge with heart, purpose, and creativity.
